Steven Gerrard’s rallying cry following victory over Man City at Anfield will go down as one of the most famous moments in Premier League history, should The Reds lift the trophy this season.
There is no player on the planet who yearns for a Premier League title as much as the Pool skipper, this was clearly evident yesterday, in Gerrard’s passionate post match team talk.
“this does not f****** slip now. Listen to me, this does not f****** slip. Listen, listen – this is gone. We go to Norwich, exactly the same, we go again. Come on!”
You could just feel the raw emotion, and can understand just how much this would mean to the 33 year old midfielder. A man who has always stuck by his club, and looked to be resigned to the fact that Liverpool would never win a League Title under his watch.
A more relaxed Steven Gerrard later spoke to the clubs official website stating that he is feeling energised ahead of what he claims is the biggest month of his career to date.
“I feel 21 again, playing with all these top players. It’s probably going to be the biggest month of my career coming up now. I’ll give it everything I’ve got.”
He also stated the importance of keeping calm and doing everything to win the remaining four league ties.
“the message is to stay calm and keep going – there are still four cup finals left.”
