Yesterday, Steven Gerrard took to the Anfield pitch for the last time as a Liverpool player.
It didn’t really go entirely to plan – LFC lost 3-1 to Crystal Palace – but at least the boots Stevie G donned for his last game at the Reds’ home stadium were more legendary than the team’s performance.
Besides the awesome artwork, the special Adidas Predator Instinct boots were also adorned with the names of his three daughters (“LILLY” is visible in the photo), as well as the Liverpool slogan “YNWA” (You’ll Never Walk Alone) and “SG” on the heel.
Coolest of all was the special message written on the inside.
The 34-year-old Gerrard plays his final game for the Reds next Sunday away at Stoke, before he heads off to the U.S to join LA Galaxy after 17 years of wearing the famous shirt on Merseyside.
And Liverpool supporters (as well as the captain himself) will be hoping for a win in the legend’s last game for the club.
