It has (kind of) been confirmed that Lamborghini will build its forthcoming SUV in Italy and could be here by 2017.
The Urus will be assembled at Lamborghini’s factory in Sant’ Agata near Bologna, Italy, after 500 new jobs are created and the plant has doubled in size in order to mass produce it.
They’ll build up to 3000 of the vehicles each year – as opposed to the 1400 Gallardos and Huracans and 1200 Aventadors that are annually produced.
Current projections show that the Urus could double Lambo’s annual sales, which will make sense, as SUVs are extremely hot property right now.
And with the upcoming Bentley Bentayga, Rolls Royce SUV, Porsche Cayenne Turbo S and BMW X5/X6, competition will be very fierce.
However, with its carbon fibre body and a whopping 600 break horse power, the Urus could boast a massive advantage as the fastest SUV to ever exist.
Now I know what I want for Christmas next year.
