We are big fans of democracy and the right to vote but the people of Iceland seem to be exercising their rights a little bit too far, with the Pirate Party now officially their SECOND BIGGEST political party with 22% of all votes.
When we talk about Iceland we tend to think of the cringeworthy Peter Andre adverts, but the country has gone one better and sky rocketed to the top of our most talked about list due to their political voting choices. While it seems very few people can actually tell us what the party stand for, one thing is for sure, they have a pretty cool name, and for that we might even consider giving them our vote.
Pirate Party member Helgi Hrafn was understandably a bit bemused as to why his party had risen to prominence so quickly and confessed:
You can just hope that the reason is that people like what we have to say.
While we are not exactly convinced that the voters actually do take into account what the party stand for, at least they have a decent logo!
That’s Why Pirates Go To Iceland.
