Much to the delight of potheads everywhere, the American government has confirmed that cannabis can kill cancer cells.
The drug has been legalised in a few states already, and there will no doubt be more to follow suit.
The ‘National Institute on Drug Abuse conducted the study, finding:
Evidence from one animal study suggests that extracts from whole-plant marijuana can shrink one of the most serious types of brain tumors.
Research in mice showed that these extracts, when used with radiation, increased the cancer-killing effects of the radiation.
With increasing studies showing it’s benefits, it’s only a matter of time before the classification debate is brought up seriously in Parliament. I think, to be fair, it’s not so much the question of it’s medicinal value, and more the people getting high that has stopped it from being legalised. But, if it WAS made legal in this country, the economy would boost from it in snacks sales alone.
What do you reckon?
