It has been confirmed that the world’s deadliest sniper is actually a British Royal Marine.
His reported death toll of 173 confirmed kills during tours in both Afghan and Iraq put him ahead of U.S. Navy SEAL Chris Kyle, who has just had a Hollywood biopic (American Sniper) made after him. As if you didn’t already know.
However sources say that his toll has plenty of unconfirmed kills, bringing his number even higher. The unidentified corporal is understood to have served in the Royal Navy’s elite unit for over a decade.
Talking to The Sun newspaper, a source said:
He will never talk about it unless he is challenged directly, then he is never boastful of what has happened — but he is not ashamed either.
Every shot was judged and balanced, not indiscriminate. He always saw the men between the cross hairs as humans not as targets. He is not interested in scores or kill counts. He took no satisfaction in the job he had to do.
The Hollywood biopic of Chris Kyle has been nominated for two Oscars and has been a box office smash since its release. But it has been widely blasted for serving as U.S. propaganda that glorifies murder.
Chris Kyle was shot dead at a shooting range in the US in 2013.
