This Baby Elephant Managed To Fight Off A Pride Of 14 Lions

The baby elephant was attacked in Luangwe Park, Zambia after straying away from its mother.

The 1-year old elephant managed to hold his own against the gang of lions that attacked him.

At one point in the footage you can see three lions attacking him at once, with two on his back and another biting his back legs.

Since the attack the park have aptly named him ‘Hercules’ for the brave display he put on fighting off the pride.

As you can see he’s pretty smart too as he uses the water to his advantage, I guess even big cats don’t like water.

The safari tour guide was quoted saying the following:

“In the 30-plus years I have been a safari guide in Zambia at the Luangwe Park, never have I seen anything like this […]

“we were all so worried the baby elephant would be killed right before us.”
