This Icelandic brewery makes beer using the bollocks of the endangered fin whales.
It may sound like a bushtucker trial, but the Havlur 2 beer from Stedji brewery is being sold to celebrate the Icelandic midwinter month ‘Thorri’.
The balls are cured before being salted and smoked, with one gonad per brewing.
A spokesperson from the brewery said:
We want to create a true Thorri atmosphere, and therefore we decided to use smoked testicles from fin whales for flavouring the beer. We put a lot of effort into this and it’s a long process.
They also annoyed conservationists last year by using different parts of whales, like bones and intestines.
