London property prices are sky high, and the actual houses themselves get snapped up almost as soon as they become available, but one property is having a bit of trouble selling – for the creepiest of reasons.
The flat, which is on sale for £300,000, was initially highly sought after, until people realised it was actually the former home of Dennis Nilsen, the serial killer.
Oh, and he used to chop up his victims and flush them down the toilet in the flat, with his victim count believed to be at least nine young gay men.
Now while the flat has been fully revamped and is a double bedroom, top floor flat with a private balcony in a highly sought after area in North London’s Muswell Hill, it still has some seriously creepy vibes around it, and you can’t really blame people who are put off by its history.
Especially when you consider the fact that Nilsen was only arrested after the pipes became clogged up with rotting body parts and police became involved.
This is the property when Nilsen lived there:
The property agent from Paul Simon claimed:
When we initially marketed the property, we were inundated with enquires and booked an average of eight viewings a week. We are now only achieving minimum interest, say one or two enquiries a week.
The property is apparently on the market for around £75,000 less than it should be, but there are still no takers who have made realistic offers, but the estate agents are hopeful that will change soon.
I wouldn’t hold my breath if I was them.
