Thanks to the ‘Homes for £1’ scheme, Liz Vaughan is now moving into this awesome house in Liverpool.

The call centre worker bought the house for just £1 with help from the council, Your Housing Group, and believe it or not, Liverpool FC.

The house is in the Anfield area of the city, and it needed a lot of work doing to it when she first got the keys.

The house had been left in a state for years, and when Liz first got it, but just look at it now.

Liz said:

This scheme is such a good idea because the area was quite run down over the last few years, been left to its own defences.

Giving people the opportunity to get on the property ladder who would not have been able to, because you need such a large deposit – and it’s keeping local people in the community and people will take care of their houses.

Fair play to Liz, it look amazing now!

The Homes For £1 Scheme has been a big success in Liverpool, and there is now a waiting list to get in to areas that were almost completely derelict previously.
