An app created for instant-hire took a turn for the worst, when people started using it for violent purposes.
In China an app was created so people could seek instant-hire, but users had other ideas and started using it to get revenge on their enemies. Users were posting ads seeking the services of thugs, mostly retired soldiers, gangsters, crooks and gym coaches. Quite a random range of workers.
The app proposed an Uber style payment structure. The company behind it Changsha Zhang Kong Information Technology Limited has insisted it was never designed for organised illegal activities and instructed staff to remove any listings regarding contract assaults.
Unsurprisingly the app has been pulled, but it would’ve cost you 200 – 500RMB (£21 – £54) per beating.
