True Detective season 2 is on it’s way, and it now has it’s confirmed HBO release date.
The highly anticipated second series will start on Sunday, June 21 on HBO at 9pm, and will be simulcast on Sky Atlantic at 2am UK time, with a prime time repeat showing on the following Monday.
True Detective caught me off guard, to be honest. I heard it was good, but I didn’t get warned just HOW good. It’s up there with Peaky Blinders as my favourite shows on TV right now, and if both carry on as well as they started, could be on the heels of The Soprano’s as my favourite show of all time.
The trailer that has been released gives a bit more of feel as to what the new series will be like. And it looks good. A lot better than I perhaps expected, given the main actors involved.
With Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn as the main characters, a lot of fans were a little skeptical. Myself included. When I first read that Vince Vaughn was going to be in it, I was a bit gutted, I won’t lie. McConaughey and Harrelson were both incredible in the first series of the show, and I wasn’t sure Farrell and Vaughn could live up to the standards set before them. But the more I’ve read and seen… I’m now optimistic that they can change my opinion. I really don’t think that the makers would have cast them if they weren’t up to the job.
I can’t wait.
