Selfie sticks seemed to take over the world when they first came out, with people everywhere enjoying using them to take a photo or two (definitely more than two).
Now, it seems that they will be going one step further, with Sky News announcing that their reporters will be using them to broadcast the news in Australia.
Reporter Joe Tidy has even done a series of interviews in the UK with the selfie stick that had been specially altered using masking tape, because, you know, whatever works for you and all that.
The sticks will initially be used to film interviews out in the field, but at this rate, they will probably be seen in studios soon.

When you look at the picture, you can actually see how the idea works – and it isn’t too bad, with the reporter easily being able to hold the selfie stick and a microphone at the same time when interviewing.
So while it might have seemed ridiculous upon first hearing about it, when you give it some thought, it is actually a pretty cool idea.
