The wing tip of a Ryanair plane has been ripped off in a collision with another aircraft from the same fleet.

Passengers from both planes – which can carry up to 189 people each – were forced to evacuate.

The collision caused severe delays of up to three hours at Stanstead Airport yesterday morning.

A spokesperson confirmed the accident involved a tail cone and a wing tip.

‘Our Stansted based engineering team are currently investigating and will repair both aircraft and return them to service as soon as possible,’ the spokesperson said at the time.

‘Ryanair sincerely apologises to affected customers for any inconvenience.’

No one was injured.

An eyewitness on board a Warsaw-bound plane involved in the collision took photos after hearing a loud bang, reported Ryanair News.
