Major League Baseball is about to get some major promo as Will Ferrell has announced he’ll be playing all nine positions in the Cactus League on Wednesday.
USA Today’s Bob Nightengale broke the news in a tweet yesterday, saying the 47-year-old comedy legend would shuttle via helicopter among all nine games scheduled in the Phoenix area until he completes his goal.
Comedian and actor Will Farrell plans to play all nine positions in Cactus League games Thursday, shuttled by helicopter to different parks.

Ferrell loves his sport, and he’s championed a lot of them in his films including NASCAR, ice skating, basketball and baseball in the TV series Eastbound and Down.
So we imagine he’ll take to the MLB like a duck to water, and if not, he’ll make it hilarious anyway.
If he completes the challenge, he’ll be setting a record by playing all nine defensive positions in one day. Plus, it’s all for charity, so what’s not to love about this new venture?
