Women who are fed up with having their topless photos removed from social media are protesting by photoshopping their breasts with male nipples.
Instagram and Facebook do not allow nudity on their sites but this latest campaign questions why male nipples are allowed to be shown uncensored but female nipples are not.
The idea was the brainchild of artist Micol Hebron, who first posted the image last June in protest of the sites’ anti-female nipple policies.
Since then, her original image has gone viral, and women have been affixing her “male” nipple to their photos.
The idea is the latest step in the “Free The Nipple” campaign, which encourages women to go topless in order to desexualise women’s breasts.
It’s a pretty creative way of showing up the ridiculous double standards of the policies. It’ll be interesting to see if this campaign changes Facebook and Instagram’s perceptions.
This one was reported again. So here it is with two MALE NIPPLES stickers that I put on to cover my illegal "FEMALE" NIPPLES! So now you can't say shit, this is so fucking wrong and this is not equality. #malenipples #freethenipple #freethenipplecampaign #freethenipple2015 #female #femalenipples #my #body #natural #fucksexism #sexism #feminist #feminism #bw #covered #with #nipplestickers #tydligen #buzzfeed #hen [email protected]Advertisement
#basseng #dagensinnkjøp #funinpool #splashandplay #malenipples #freethenipple #notfemalenipples
