Woman whose daughter heard 'monster' in the house makes horrifying discovery living in her walls

The scenes looked like something from a horror movie

I know kids talk a lot of nonsense, but this mom will be glad to have listened to her toddler.

As per Disney classic Monster's Inc., it's not uncommon for kids to think there's a 'monster' in their room.

This happened to one of TikToker Ashley's kids, who said that she'd heard so-called monsters in her bedroom.

Most parents would shrug this off, but upon further investigation, Ashley discovered that there was actually something in her child's room.

It wasn't Mike Wazowski hiding under toddler's bed however, but 50,000 bees living in her walls.

In a video that's been viewed over nine million times on the video sharing platform, Ashley hailed the ordeal as 'what nightmares are made of'.

But rather exterminate the unwanted bees from her home, Ashley brought in a beekeeper to safely extract the thousands of insects.

Issuing updates on her TikTok page @classashley, on the first day the beekeeper apparently removed 20,000 bees and over 100lbs of honeycomb.

He located the queen, so was able to take the huge swarm of bees to a new hive.

The most recent update was issued by Ashley yesterday (Sunday, April 28), with the mom-of-three revealing that it's taken three extractions to get rid of the bees.

As I'm sure you can imagine, Ashley has been inundated with questions about the fiasco.

One trending question seems to be how Ashley and her family didn't learn of the thousands of bees living inside the walls of her home sooner.

"I would ask the same thing," she replied to one person's query.

"It only takes a couple of bees and a swarm that you might be able to see to become a colony that's 50,000 bees."

Apparently the 100lb of honeycomb discovered will have taken around eight months for the bees to make.

As to how they got in, it's believed the bees came through the chimney of Ashley's 100-year-old home.

Something else someone asked her is if she's checked the rest of her home to make sure there aren't any other hives elsewhere.

Ashley replied: "We have, it’s just through that one section. We are lucky honesty to get it before it did."

Sadly the extraction fees are coming straight out of Ashely's pocket as her home insurance doesn't cover any pest or insect damage.

According to Forbes, bee removal can cost anything between $150 and $500. Ouch.
