Britain’s most notorious inmate greased himself up with Lurpak before attacking 12 prison guards after a football match.

Charles Bronson, 61, reportedly ‘lost it’ because Arsenal won the FA Cup.

The incident took place at Full Sutton jail in York.

In a letter seen by the Mirror the dangerous inmate told his friend Kate Kray that he was left with broken ribs after the ‘rumble’.

He smothered himself in butter to make it harder for the prison officers to restrain him.

Bronson wrote: ‘Not good news. I’ve had another rumble. This time with a dozen riot mob on the yard!

‘Obviously I had my reasons and I’d sooner swallow teeth than my pride. Sadly I came off worst – got smashed up ribs.

He continues: ‘I got Lurpak and spread it on thick.’
