The fastest case of speeding in Britain was caught on camera, after offender Shaun Davis filmed it on his phone.
The 42-year-old ended up in court after footage of him speeding in a BMW M5 and an Audi RS6 came to the attention of police, who have now released it to the public.
In the footage, he can be heard laughing and joking while increasing the speed in his car, saying ‘f*cking look at that’ once the car reaches 180mph.
Davis was convicted on four counts, that saw him driving between 150 and 192mph, the fastest case of speeding in Britain.
He was sentenced to 28 months in prison, and has been banned from driving for ten years.
After the verdict, Detective Inspector Greg Maides, from East Midlands Special Operations Unit said:
After examining Shaun Davis’ mobiles phones, we found multiple videos of him driving grossly in excess of the maximum national speed limit, with no regard for the safety of other motorists, pedestrians or himself.
We are satisfied with the result, and hope that this will serve as a deterrent to him in the future.Advertisement
