Sometimes it’s easy to forget that despite their being a whole load of similarities between us and our American cousins, we do some things a little differently.

For example, when it comes to defending your home from intruders in Britain you’ll be lucky to have some sort of blunt object at hand to combat any thieves, before having to inevitably give up your prize possessions.

But across the pond it’s a whole different story, as burglars are just as likely to get harmed by homeowners thanks to the good ol’ second amendment- something these home invaders probably wish they took into account.

Dramatic CCTV footage captured the moment a woman in her PJ’s turned the tables on three armed robbers who broke into her home.

The clip starts with the armed trio breaking in through the front door, before splitting up to search the premises.

But only moments later this seemingly dire situation is completely turned on its head as the homeowner, wearing slippers and pyjamas, launches a barrage of bullets with her own handgun.

Realising they’ve made a huge mistake messing with this gun-toting woman, they quickly try to escape while debris flies around them- with one suspect even breaking through a glass door to escape.

One of the suspects died on the home’s driveway after being struck in the torso, police told ABC 7 Eyewitness News.

This bizarre incident unfolded on September 16th in the early hours of the morning in Gwinnett County, Georgia.

Cpl. Deon Washington of the Gwinnett County Police said that the woman ‘exercised her right to defend her livelihood and property’.

The other two suspects are still on the run.
