Jim Carrey’s STD test, submitted as evidence in a wrongful death lawsuit against him, has shown positive results for several diseases.
This is just the latest twist in this suit, in which Carrey is being sued for supplying his former lover Cathriona White with prescription drugs she took in a fatal overdose last September, which has since been deemed a suicide.
A Quest Diagnostics test obtained by the Daily Mail, belonging to ‘Jose Lopez’ shows that they tested positive for Herpes I and II, Chlamydia and Hepatitis A after being tested on January 28th, 2013.
The date of birth for ‘Lopez’ is listed as January 17th, 1962, which the exact same date of birth as Carrey’s. Cathriona’s mother Brigid Sweetman, who’s filed the suit, and her attorney stated in court papers that ‘Lopez’ is in fact Jim Carrey.
The results of this test were submitted as evidence in the case on Thursday, the Daily Mail report.
Sweetman’s lawyer, Michael Avenatti, submitted this declaration on Thursday:
After Carrey received the test results, he purposely hid the results from Ms. White, whom he was intimately involved with, and failed to inform her that he had tested positive for Hepatitis A, HSV (Herpes) I and II, and Chlamydia. To make matters worse, Carrey then proceeded to have unprotected sex with Ms. White with full knowledge that he was STD positive, including on February 12, 2013. Even after doing so, he failed to inform Ms. White that he had likely just infected her with STDs and possibly hepatitis A. This was not only callous, it was criminal.’
Avenatti then goes on to claim that Carrey and White had ‘unprotected sex’ again on Valentine’s Day.
Only a week a later, White allegedly texted Carrey with concerns that she may have a sexually transmitted disease- though Carrey didn’t seem too concerned- saying it might be down to the ‘vigorous sex’ they had.
When she becomes even more troubled later on, he then tries to shift the blame to previous lovers.
However, White’s ex-husband Mark Burton claimed in his complaint however that White was tested just before she began dating Carrey, so the STD’s could not have come from another man.
Burton alleges that Carrey used ‘his immense wealth and celebrity status to illegally obtain and distribute highly addictive and, in this case deadly, controlled substances’ which in turn led to the wrongful death of White.
It is now up to the judicial system to decide whether Jim Carrey is guilty of contributing to the events that led to Cathriona’s death.
Our thoughts are with Cathriona’s family at this difficult time.
