It can’t be easy pretending to have sex in front of a room full of people all pointing cameras and lights at you, as Margot Robbie found out for the first time when filming The Wolf of Wall Street.
The Australian actress got her big break in the Martin Scorsese film and although she shone alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, she found it “awkward” filming sex scenes with the Hollywood legend.
It was Robbie’s first time stripping off in front of the cameras, unlike her co-star, who pretty much shagged his way across America in Catch Me If You Can.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, the 26-year-old opened up about losing her onscreen V-card.
Robbie told the magazine:
I hadn’t done a proper sex scene before. I’d done scenes where it’s leading into sex or sex has just finished, but I hadn’t done a start-to-finish sex scene like I did in Wolf. That was my first.Advertisement
Tons of people are watching you. There isn’t an option. It’s just like, ‘This is what you need to do — get on with it. The sooner you do it, the sooner you can stop doing it. It’s so awkward.
Robbie also briefly discussed Harley Quinn’s relationship with Jared Leto’s Joker in the highly-anticipated Suicide Squad.
[Harley Quinn] loves causing mayhem and destruction.
She’s incredibly devoted to the Joker. They have a dysfunctional relationship, but she loves him anyway.Advertisement
It’s safe to say Margot Robbie has come a long way since Neighbours!
