The PlayStation VR will be launching very, very soon (October 13), and arrives as yet another competitor on the Virtual Reality scene.
What Sony might well have going for them with their own headset, however, is the juicy notion of quality, exclusive games.
I think we all assumed that one such beast would be the VR edition of Resident Evil 7 – but some new advertising images suggest that the survival horror will only remain true to PSVR for a year, before flying the nest.
Capcom has only showcased Resident Evil 7 on the PlayStation VR up till this point, leading most of us to assume that it would sit out an appearance on the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift.
Obviously, this could all change in 12 months – whether or not Capcom definitely will bring their game to other VR headsets is unclear – this just indicates that they definitely can if they want to.
There’s also a chance that Microsoft could have some kind of VR related trickery planned to coincide with the launch of their powerful Xbox Scorpio console in 2017, so perhaps we’ll see Resident Evil 7 VR pop up there?
Resident Evil 7 launches in January 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC – though early impressions of the VR demo weren’t great.
