The clever people at Macmillan have built a UK skyline out of biscuits to raise awareness for the ongoing fight against cancer.

More than 25,000 biscuits were fashioned into the 80 foot structure by a team with the collective willpower of a saint.

If you can handle all those biscuits without taking a sneaky nibble, you can make your own landmarks too using a handy downloadable guide.

According to Macmillan Cancer Support, by 2020 almost half the population (47%) will get cancer at some point in their lives. We don’t like those stats.

Thankfully, Macmillan and their nurses are working hard to support those of us affected by cancer: family, friends, carers as well as the people who suffer with this terrible illness.

The skyline, unveiled in London, was built to celebrate the volunteers that helped raise £27.6 million during last year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning alone. Since its founding in 1990, the events have raised a tasty £165 million.

Clair Driscoll, National Events Marketing Manager at Macmillan Cancer Support, said:

Coffee mornings take place from Penzance to Peterborough and Southampton to the Shetland Islands and this is what we want to represent with our huge biscuit sculpture.

…Each slice of cake shared at a World’s Biggest Coffee Morning really does change lives by helping us ensure that no one has to face cancer alone.

So if you want to help fight cancer, get eating biscuits on 30 September and raise your cups of tea to charitable Custard Creams and humanitarian Hob Nobs.
