Human history is littered with small ideas that lead to huge changes in the development of the species – this chip shop order is one of those moments.
Fire, the wheel, penicillin, and now this incredible takeaway order from a customer of Feeley’s Chippy in West Belfast.
I think we can all agree this is a genuinely life-changing moment for us all. Ordering flu tablets from the chippy so simple, so elegant, so perfect.
Deliveroo becomes Deliverflu. Why has nobody ever thought of this before?
The incredible special instructions with the order read:
Will you please stop in Spar on the way and pick up some Benylin cold and flu tablets and i’ll give you the money, only ordering food so I can get the tablets I’m dying sick xx
Of course, Feeley’s Chippy smashed the request and delivered the cheeky order. Proving that nobody can resist the pull of destiny when fate comes knocking.
This may seem small, but I guarantee next time you’re ill you’ll consider doing this.
I can’t count the times I’ve been too ill to look after myself and take the simple steps to recovery. Bedridden, unable to get to Spar to get a Lucozade and some ibuprofen to get me ready for the day.
Okay, when I say ill, I mean hungover – but the point stands.
This customer’s proactive attempt to get well at any expense shows a dedication to health and productivity that we should all find inspirational.
To say nothing of the huge implications of this simple order, HR Magazine says sick days cost the UK economy £29 billion per year.
To put that into context the UK’s yearly net contribution to the EU was £8.5 billion, according to Full Fact, and we all know how unhappy that made everyone.
This one chip shop order could help eliminate unnecessary sick days due to people being feeling too rough to make it to the corner shop.
This could be the key to making the UK the greatest economy on earth.
Watch out Trump, watch out China, we’ve got the sniffles but we’re coming for you.
