Wrestling was never really my thing when I was younger. Even at a young age the thought of half naked men taking part in scripted and choreographed fights just didn’t appeal to me.

But now I wish it did.

Why’s that I hear you ask? Because those crappy little plastic wrestling figurines – the sort that pretty much everybody had back in primary school – now sell for a fuck-tonne of dollar.

Nowadays, nine-year-old’s just don’t give a damn when it comes to plastic figurines. They’d rather play on their Xbox One or iPad than use their imagination. So I guess the demand for WWE figures just sort of plummeted.

If you’re one of the few people who didn’t launch their limited edition Ric Flair figurine into the recycling bin when they turned the big one-two, then you might want to head over to eBay as they’re now selling like gold dust.

As you’d probably expect, the rarer the better, as you can see with this batch of three ‘Ultimate Warrior’ figures selling for a minimum of £1,700:

Interestingly, on the other side of the pond a similar figurine from 2010 is going for a mind-numbing $89,000.

Yeah. Think about that for a second…

That’s a full year’s salary on an incredibly good wage. Who the fuck would spend that amount of money on a plastic toy?

Another British example is this Roddy Piper Gold Gloves special – going for £1,200:

Now, of course, some of these are pretty exceptional – but even if you’ve got just an average collection of wrestling toys it’s definitely worth digging them out and checking how much they’re worth.

You can probably expect to pocket a tasty few hundred quid.
