An infamous German cannibal who fried a piece of rump steak from his lovers back and ate it has opened up about his crimes in a new documentary.
Armin Meiwes killed and ate Bernd Brandes in 2001 after Brandes posted an advert online called ‘Dinner – or your dinner’, where he offered ‘the chance to eat me alive’, the Daily Mail reports.
Meiwes was arrested in 2002 for the crime and has finally spoken about his crimes for a documentary called Docs: Interview with a Cannibal.

Being an old fashioned romantic Meiwes told how he ‘decorated the table with nice candles.’
He then explained:
I took out my best dinner service, and fried a piece of rump steak – a piece from his back – made what I call princess potatoes, and sprouts. After I prepared my meal, I ate it.
The first bite was, of course, very strange. It was a feeling I can’t really describe. I’d spent over 40 years longing for it, dreaming about it.
And now I was getting the feeling that I was actually achieving this perfect inner connection through his flesh. The flesh tastes like pork but stronger.Advertisement

After the couple met they allegedly went to Meiwes farmhouse, where they had sex. But according to Meiwes Brandes was not satisfied because ‘he wanted to be eaten alive’.
Brandes then swallowed 20 sleeping tablets with half a bottle of schnapps before Meiwes cut off his penis ‘with his agreement’, and fried it for them both to eat. After that Brandes took a bath while Meiwes read him a Star Trek novel before stabbing him in the neck to kill him.
He then chopped him into pieces, buried his head in his garden and put the rest in the freezer. Strangely Meiwes filmed his crime but the documentary makers thankfully decided not to include that part.
Allegedly Meiwes became obsessed with cannibalism as a teenager but only acted on it after his mother died and he discovered chatrooms where people would offer themselves up.
During his trial he said Brandes: “came to me of his own free will to end his life. For him, it was a nice death.”
He served eight years in prison after being convicted of manslaughter in 2004. We was later retried for murder and is serving a life sentence.
He is now allegedly a vegetarian…
