James Franco’s sexuality has been the subject of many pointless debates over the last few years.
And now, in an interview with New York Magazine, the actor once again elaborated on the subject, describing himself as ‘a little gay.’
Noting that Franco has said he’s ‘gay in my art and straight in my life,’ the interviewer asked Franco to explain further.
There is a bit of over focusing on my sexuality, both by the straight press and the gay press, and so the first question is why do they care?
Well, because I’m a celebrity, so I guess they care who I’m having sex with. But if your definition of gay and straight is who I sleep with, then I guess you could say I’m a gay cock tease.
It’s where my allegiance lies, where my sensibilities lie, how I define myself. Yeah, I’m a little gay, and there’s a gay James.
In 2015, Franco explored his sexuality in a piece for FourTwoNine magazine, in which he interviewed himself as ‘Straight James Franco’ speaking to ‘Gay James Franco.’
His sentiments in that interview mirrored his recent statement: “I like to think that I’m gay in my art and straight in my life. Although, I’m also gay in my life up to the point of intercourse, and then you could say I’m straight.”
Throughout his career, he’s never shied away from playing LGBTQ characters, portraying gay men in films I Am Michael, Interior Leather Bar, and Milk. More recently, Franco plays a gay porn star in the upcoming film King Cobra.
The film is inspired by the 2007 murder of gay adult film star Bryan Kocis.

And according to the film’s director, Justin Kelly, Franco has an explicit sex scene with one of his co-stars.
Kelly said of filming the scene:
They’re both fully naked wearing these things called ‘cock socks’.
It was one of those moments where even though we all know what the movie is about and I wrote it, I still shocked myself watching and directing it. ‘Wait, this is kind of insane. We’re just actually doing this.’
Whether James Franco is gay, straight, or bisexual – the point is, we probably shouldn’t care. Even though the Internet definitely does.
James Franco is the parts of gay you think are cool and not the parts you think are gross. He wants to be gay without having to be a fag.

There's a possibility that James Franco is gay….

While there may be quite a bit of criticism out there, I’m sure Franco doesn’t really care. Gay, straight, bi – he’s still a great actor.
