A man in India has been murdered after arguing with a friend about who was the best player in the world – Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.
The two men were attending a birthday party in Mumbai, India, when the discussion between the two superstars became heated and ended in tragedy.
34-year-old Obinna Michael Durumchukwa insisted Real Madrid’s Ronaldo was the best player in the world, a statement 22-year-old Nwabu Chukwuma obviously disagreed with.
An argument broke out and quickly escalated to the point where Durumchukwa launched a bottle at Chukwuma, who retalliated by taking a broken shard of glass and slitting his friend’s throat, before leaving him to die on the apartment floor.
Inspector Kiram Kabadi, of the Tulinj police, was quoted in the Mumbai Mirror saying:
A discussion over the best current footballer led to the incident.
The deceased threw a glass into the face of the accused person. The glass broke and caused small injuries.
After that the accused took the broken glass and assaulted the deceased person who died due to heavy bleeding.
How do things like this happen in the world?
