A former girlfriend of Muhammad Ali has reportedly tried to cash in on his death by putting tapes up for sale she claims show him at sex parties.
According to The Mirror, Barbara Mensah – who claims her daughter is the lovechild of the former world heavyweight champion – wants more than $100,000 (£70,000) for the footage.
Just two days after Ali was buried Barbara apparently gave an interview to the Sunday People in which she revealed her plan.
I know the value of the footage. No one has anything like this. I’d like to get as much as I can for it.
The 70-year-old has even made inquiries to get the old film transferred to digital format to make a deal easier to secure.
She claimed the footage was shot at parties arranged after his fights:
There would be Ali and a few of his guys and then about a dozen or more girls.
All of them were stunning. Muhammad couldn’t keep away from a pretty girl whether he was married or not. The tapes show them having sex.
Barbara claims Ali’s wife, Lonnie, blocked her and her daughter Kiiursti out of the boxer’s life after he became seriously ill from Parkinson’s.
She said Ali had regularly visited Kiiursti until she was five but after that the visits became less frequent and by the age of 13 all contact had stopped.
With allegations flying, Kiiursti has denied that she and her mother want a slice of Ali’s money, saying:
The rest said I just want money. I said: “Seriously, you just don’t know what’s going on, do you.”
Sources claim Ali’s will could cause a legal battle among his family, with rumours that his estate may be subjected to claims for a share of his £55 million fortune from people claiming to be his children.
Khalilah Camacho-Ali, his second wife, insists her former husband has several children who remain unknown:
I had to protect Ali from lots of paternity suits. They’re going to come out of the woodwork like roaches.
Let’s just hope it doesn’t take away from what he achieved in his remarkable life.
