A gang in Cornwall took the law into their own hands, torturing, sexually assaulting, and ultimately killing a convicted paedophile after deeming him ‘fair game’, a court has heard.

Terry Oldham’s home was hijacked by a gang that discovered his criminal past, and subjected to horrific levels of torture.

Oldham was force fed dog faeces, soaked in urine, beaten, and assaulted with a broom handle, causing internal damage a postmortem revealed led to the 63-year-old’s death.

The gang of four learned that Oldham had been convicted of indecently assaulting a girl aged under 14 in 1987, and would then regularly assault and steal his money.

He said:

He [Mr Oldman] was a small frail man in his 60s.

He was routinely bullied and assaulted by them, they took his money and they stole his possessions.

They knew he was a convicted sex offender so viewed him as fair game.”

Dunkels also spoke of how the postmortem could not identify who delivered the fatal blow to Oldham.

He then added:

Mallen, Casterton and Quinn were laughing and said that Richard Rosevear woke them up and said that Terry was dead and they all went back to sleep before getting up to see what had happened.

They said they kept poking him to see if he really was dead.”

The trial may take up to five weeks to deliver a verdict on the brutal acts.
