Hunter Moore, described by himself as a ‘professional life ruiner’ but by most others as ‘that fucking twat’ is getting his well deserved and overdue comeuppance and is going to prison.

A federal district judge in California has sentenced Moore to two and a half years in prison, plus three years supervised release and a $2,000 (£1,320) fine.

Serial toss-wit Moore owned IsAnyoneUp.com, the notorious ‘revenge porn’ website where nude pictures were posted of women without permission. He has had numerous legal threats however  has been protected by Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which prevents website owners from being liable for content that users post to their sites.

However, Moore pleaded guilty to charges of computer hacking and aggravated identity theft after a federal investigation – begun in 2012 –  revealed that many of the ‘submissions’ in fact came from hacked email accounts. Charles Evens, the hacker Moore hired, was sentenced to 25 months in prison for his role.

At its height the website received over 30 million views per month but declined in popularity after California criminalised revenge porn in 2013 when Moore infamously took to YouTube to disparage the state.

Nonconsensual pornography, or revenge porn, is currently illegal to greater and lesser degrees in 27 states and federal legislation criminalising revenge porn has been in progress for more than a year, but has yet to be introduced.
