WWE fans boo The Rock after he calls them ‘inbred’ during savage rant

Heel Rock is back

The Rock has made officially made his heel return to WWE.

For yesterday's Friday Night Smackdown (February 16), Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson took aim at his Salt Lake City, Utah, fans.

Not holding back, The Rock made his feelings about his supporters there very clear.

While it's been over two decades since The Rock was a heel, he seemed to fall back into character pretty easily (and quickly).

"You broke the all-time record for the largest gathering of trailer park trash The Rock has ever seen," he told the audience.

"Finally your life has meaning! Finally you and your 50 wives will have a story to tell and you know what I’m talking about.

"You’ll have a story to tell your 600 inbred grandchildren one day and that is what it’s like to look at greatness in the flesh because finally The Rock has come back to Salt Lake City!"

Damn.

After throwing shade at Smackdown-goers, he was met with a host of boos from the crowd.

A snippet of The Rock's savage monologue was shared to the official WWE X page.

It captioned the clip: "This is NOT @TheRock we remember... This SOLD OUT #SmackDown crowd is getting RIPPED TO SHREDS TONIGHT."

'Ripped to shreds' is definitely one way of wording it.

While he was met with boos by the crowd, other WWE fans took to social media to share their excitement at Heel Rock's return.

"Exactly the Rock we remember," one person penned, as another added: "We finally got the real Rock after a 21 year leave."

Someone else raved: "HEEL ROCK IS THE BEST ROCK!!!"

"THAT'S THE ROCK WE ALL LOVE," echoed another.

A different person went on: "I have missed this version of the rock for so many years."

After years away from wrestling to focus on his acting career, Johnson made his surprise return at the start of 2024.

The crowd in Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California absolutely lost their minds when The Rock made an unexpected appearance at WWE Raw on January 1, where he took aim at his competitors.

Hinting at a collaboration with Roman Reigns, Johnson made reference to Reigns' WWE theme song as he asked the crowd: "When The Rock goes out to get something to eat tonight in San Diego, should The Rock sit in a booth? Or should The Rock sit at the bar?...

"Or should The Rock sit at the head of the table?!"

WrestleMania 40 is set to kick off on April 6.
