The Boxing Day sales got off to a busy start, and families up and down the country packed out shopping centres in the hope of a bargain.
Alarmingly for those in Bromley, Kent, they got far more than they were looking for after a shocking machete attack took place.
Fears of a terror attack were rife, with witnesses stating young children were trampled as shoppers desperately tried to exit the complex.
As it became clear the events were not part of a terrorist attack, news outlets began to break the news that the fight involved dozens of teenagers.
After fleeing the scene, they left two knives, including one two inch machete behind.
One shopper spoke to the London Evening Standard and said:
A police van pulled up and officers went running inside.
Security and three or four police officers have handcuffed a man and the police officer is carrying the huge knife.
No-one got injured as far as I know.
Police have appealed for information following the incident, and have a male, believed to be in his 20s, in custody being questioned.
The shocking events were captured on camera by one Twitter user, and quickly went viral.
