In an age where being known as a ‘celebrity’ is essentially some randomer who knows someone famous or was a bit of an idiot on TV, these people have been carted off to celebrity reality TV shows for our amusement.
And with that in mind, this year’s Celebrity Big Brother is set to kick off in just a matter of hours’ time – what a time to be alive.
The rumoured ‘stars’ who are set to take residence have reportedly had their salaries leaked… and it’s fair to say it’s pretty depressing.
Despite the fact this year’s line up is yet to be confirmed, Liza Minnelli’s ex-husband, music producer David ‘I knew Michael Jackson’ Gest is said to be getting a whopping £600,000 to appear.
Then, somehow, Kim Kardashian’s best friend (don’t know how they can be considered a celebrity) Jonathan Cheban is reportedly pocketing £300,000, which definitely proves once for all that it’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
The Channel 5 reality show has also managed to bag former EastEnders actress and recovering drug addict Daniella Westbrook, who is taking home £200,000.
Ex-Hollyoaks actress Stephanie Davis has apparently signed up for £150,000, while Kristina Rihanoff of Strictly Come Dancing fame has managed to pocket a cheeky £100,000.
Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins (who seems to be doing the rounds on celebrity reality shows) and Nancy Dell’Olio are also rumoured to be taking home £100,000 each too.
Other people rumoured to be appearing include American reality star Tiffany Pollard (no idea), Megan McKenna of Ex On The Beach (still no idea), EastEnders actor John Partridge, Geordie Shore cast member Scotty T (that’s not even a name) and former X Factor finalist Christopher Maloney.
If anyone actually cares, the official line up of housemates will be revealed when Celebrity Big Brother’ launches on Channel 5 tonight at 9pm.
This money could go to a much more meaningful cause, surely?
