Woman shares genius hack that guarantees a 'higher chance of a callback' when applying for jobs

I think we can all agree that job hunting can be a soul destroying experience.

Waiting for callbacks from potential employers can feel like decades when you're desperate for a new role - especially as less than half of recruiters get back to people within a few weeks of applying, according to Indeed.

But there's apparently a way that you can increase your chances of getting a callback - and it's pretty straight forward.

According to TikToker Marni (who goes by @ohmarni), applying for the role when it first goes live can make all the difference.

The data analyst shared with her 198,000 followers: "I don't think I ever mentioned this, but if you don't have nepotism or a network when searching for a job, the next best thing you do have is time."

Sharing her hack, the 28-year-old went on to reveal: "There's a very specific Google search that I use to make sure I'm applying to jobs within the first 24 hours, because that definitely gives you a much higher chance of a callback."

Marni also noted that you also need to be qualified for the role you're applying for - obviously.

She then proceeded to show how to conduct the search so that you can see which jobs have recently been posted online on sites such as Greenhouse, Lever and Dover via Google.

"I would basically do this every day to see what the new jobs are, then apply," Marni went on.

"Jobs could literally get hundreds of application in a single day, so you want to make sure you're apart of that first batch."

And people have since applauded Marni for sharing the nifty hack in the video that's been viewed more than a million times.

One person commented: "I never apply to jobs more than 30 days old. Definitely agree to apply as soon as you can."

"Yesss!! Absolutely true. The earlier I applied the more callbacks I got," agreed a second.

Sharing their success after trying Marni's tip for themselves, another said: "Girlllll I just got a phone call today with your advice after applying YESTERDAY! Thank you so much!!!"

"This. Being 1 of the first applicants has always helped me," a different TikTok user penned.

"Commenting to save this." a fifth wrote.

Meanwhile, someone else hailed the hack as a 'God send'.
