If you've ever been unexpectedly let go from a job, you'll know how much it throws your life into chaos.
While there is undoubtedly much more to life than work, employment plays a huge role in our lives: from our daily routines, to our monthly income.
And if you're lucky enough to be in a job you love, there's a good chance you'll make sacrifices into other aspects of your live to fulfil your role - something which Nico Murillo experienced first hand.
Murillo had worked for Tesla for five years, working his way up the ranks to eventually become production supervisor.

But Murillo was recently let go from the company, which he only became aware of in a email he received on his way to work one day (which was a 90-minute commute for him).
The email simply read: "Unfortunately as a result, your position has been eliminated by this restructuring."
When he arrived to work and tried to use his badge to get into the building, a security guard apparently took his badge off him and told Murillo that he'd been laid off.
Understandably the ordeal left Murillo in 'disbelief'.
He shared the news of his unexpected dismissal on LinkedIn, as well as sharing that he'd sleep in his car while working there.

Murillo said of his five-year stint at Tesla: "At one point in 2023 I was even sacrificing sleeping in my car on work days just to avoid commuting to work. Showered at the factory and slept in the parking lot. Microwaved dinner in the break room.
"Sacrificed a lot for the company. But this is just a small part of a chapter that is ending, and there’s a whole book waiting to be written. I’m only 29 years old and have a lot more career time in me."
Detailing his career progression, Murillo went on: "I went from Production Associate, to Lead Production Associate, to being a Production Supervisor.
"Starting from the very bottom and worked my way up. Learned a lot of adapting to the ever-changing environment, to working with less but getting more done."
Murillo is just one of the thousands of employees to have been let go from Tesla of late.

It was reported last month that the car manufacturer owned by billionaire Elon Musk was laying off thousands of workers at Tesla factories in Fremont and Palo Alto.
Its intentions of getting rid of 10 percent of its staff were outlined in documents filed with the California Employment Development Department, KTVU reported.
The news came as Tesla's stock dipped by three percent.
