Could we see Will Smith in the White House in 2020? According to the actor himself, it may actually be a realistic possibility.
The 47-year-old has previously revealed his political ambitions but, while he always expected he’d one day enter the political arena, Smith now says he feels like he’s practically being forced into it.
Why? Well, it’s all thanks to one person – Donald Trump.
It turns out that Trump’s absolute bellendery and outrageous comments about Muslims and Mexicans have irritated Will Smith so much that he may actually make a run for the U.S. Presidency.
Speaking to CBS during promotion for his new film Concussion, Smith said:
If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena.
Smith appeared to be referencing ol’ Trump’s horrendous comments about banning all Muslims from entering the U.S. and calls for a wall to be built between America and Mexico.
And when pushed on which particular role in government he’d like, Smith’s response was pretty simple.
I gotta be the President. Come on! What else would I run for?
The Fresh Prince of DC? It may sound pretty far-fetched but, remember, this is a country which has elected Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jesse Ventura as state governors so Will Smith as president might just be crazy enough to work.
Who knows, maybe we’ll see Smith and Kanye West as running buddies for 2020? That’d certainly spice up American politics!
