Bad news for anyone downloading porn apps to their Android smart phones – you could be installing malware which severely threatens your data.

As reported by the Metro, people who innocently want to spank it to their phone are inadvertantly seeing their device infected with lock screen apps which could leave leave data, and potentially money, at risk.

Alex Dubrovsky, a security researcher from Dell, reported that the number of dangerous apps is in triple figures.

Dubrovsky said:

We have found over a 100 different apps that contain this malware and suspect that the authors behind the apps are gearing up for a much larger more deadly assault.

He added:

This lock screen is spreading mainly via Porn related apps.

Based on some of the components it appears that this campaign is still in its early stages and will evolve over time.

It is interesting to note that there is no demand for ransom of any kind, also the fact that the victim can come out of this view gives an indication that this mechanism might not be completely implemented.

At present it is believed ‘free’ porn apps pose the highest threat, while older handsets running KitKat or older software are most at risk.

So, take the necessary precautions, or maybe stop filling your phone with porn, dealers choice.
