There could be bad news for adult film stars and fans alike as a new bill – if passed – will ban a load of sex acts from adult films.

The inconspicuously named Digital Economy Bill is looking to ban a whole host of things from UK porn including female ejaculation (which seems unfair) and the sight of ‘menstrual blood’ reports The Independent.

The British Board of Film Classification’s (BBFC) guidelines provide a lengthy list of the things that will not be accepted in R18 –  the highest restriction that all porn available to UK users has to comply with.

The rules include regulations over ‘penetration by any object associated with violence’, the infamous ‘four-finger rule’ which sets the maximum number of digits that can be placed into any orifice while on video at – you guessed it – four and any act labelled as ‘obscene’ by the 1959 Obscene Publications Act – which seems odd as ‘tastes’ have surely moved on since then…

If sites do have content available to UK users that breaks the potential new rules they would not be banned from hosting the material, but would be prevented from showing it to anyone in Britain.

The adult-film industry is obviously not too pleased about the crackdown, complaining that the new restrictions are a form of censorship, however the biggest criticism is over the age verification clauses.

It’s been warned that this would lead to a database of viewing habits being held by companies or the government, which would have a high risk of being hacked.

Which, given certain organisations’ recent record on data security, you would think is almost definitely going to happen at some point…
