Former Playboy playmate, Baywatch and sex tape star Pamela Anderson caused something of a stir this week when she had a massive pop at pornography.

The 15-time Playboy cover star claimed that porn is ‘corrosive and ‘ a ‘public hazard’ which affects men’s ‘ability to function as husband, and, by extension, as father’. Ouch!

She made the surprising claims in a joint op-ed article with Shmuley Boteach, an American Orthodox Jewish rabbi and author, written for the Wall Street Journal this week.

Urging men to give up watching adult films, she said:

Pornography has a corrosive effect on a man’s soul and on his ability to function as husband, and, by extension, as father.

This is a public hazard of unprecedented seriousness given how freely available, anonymously accessible and easily disseminated pornography is nowadays.

We are a guinea-pig generation for an experiment in mass debasement that few of us would have ever consented to, and whose full nefarious impact may not be known for years. How many families will suffer? How many marriages will implode? How many talented men will scrap their most important relationships and careers for a brief onanistic thrill? How many children will propel, warp-speed, into the dark side of adult sexuality by forced exposure to their fathers’ profanations?

According to the Telegraph, Pam wrote the article in response to the latest Anthony Weiner sex scandal, in which the former politician was caught sending a picture of his crotch to a woman in the presence of his young son.

And Anderson went on to say that porn is for ‘losers’:

Simply put, we must educate ourselves and our children to understand that porn is for losers— a boring, wasteful and dead-end outlet for people too lazy to reap the ample rewards of healthy sexuality.

Very strong words indeed for a woman who appeared on more Playboy covers than any other model in history.
