Experts are claiming that the rise of ‘sex robots’ in the future may cause those of us with a less than ‘perfect’ body to suffer from sexual performance anxiety.

The idea being that in the future advances in technology will inevitably lead to the development of human looking androids which men and women can have sex with because let’s be honest that’s what we do, The Mirror reports.

But unlike us, these robots will be perfect in almost everyway with nary a love handle in sight, unless you want one put on to carry your robot lover around.

David Levy an artificial intelligence expert has gone so far as to predict that as people grow more comfortable with robots sex, and maybe even love and marriage, with our mechanical brethren will become more and more common.

Unfortunately because these male and female sex robots will be built to be perfect partners, those with less-than-perfect human bodies could become worried about whether we can compete with these android Adonises.

Levy, who penned Love And Sex With Robots, rather strangely said that robots will be ‘wonderful lovers’ who could cause ‘performance anxiety’ among men and women.

His ideas clearly aren’t that weird though with new research in the UK revealing that one in four would happily date a robot.

Of course, according to the survey of 18- to 34-year-olds, the only catch is that these androids must by a “perfect match”, and must look like a real-life human being.

I notice no one’s asking the robots what they want in this slightly creepy sex-slave deal.

The survey also found that older people are less accepting of robosexuals, with only 17 per cent saying they’d have sex with a robot.

I’m sure the robophobes will be about protesting the day that man and machine can marry, with banners claiming love is for Adam and Eve, not Adam and Eva.
