The London skyline already looks pretty phallic, let’s be honest.

But the cocky-looking capital just welcomed an additional member to its skyscraper club, and I’m betting the architects are regretting the oversight (or cackling like a bunch of 12-year-olds at the pretty obvious penis joke).

The Spire London is set to be the tallest residential tower block in Western Europe, towering over 67 floors of luxury apartment. But its tip hits peak NSFW; just take a look at this promotional video published to YouTube, courtesy of JLL.

As you can see on the approach around the River Thames, the glittering skyscraper pierces the sky with a rather unusually shaped tip, which was apparently designed to look like a ship in a subtle nod to the area’s nautical history.

The £800m skyscraper, funded by Chinese investors, was announced last month.

Since the architects plans have been revealed, some observers have pointed out that the shape might alarm tourists and business people flying into The City of London airport over the Isle of Dogs, where The Spire is situated.

The skyscraper, which will be erected by 2020, stands 771ft tall but, as we all know, it’s not all about size.

The Spire contains a number of highly-finished residences.

The interior design looks polished to perfection and the building itself boasts use of a gym, swimming pool, cinema, and private bar with spectacular panoramic views over London.

The apartments have a starting cost of £595,000, presumably for a place in the shaft, while the views from the tip – in other words, the penthouse – will surely set you back a pretty penny.

I wonder how much it costs to live in the left ball sack.
