This is why you shouldn’t try and step in between two dogs who are scrapping!

U.S. skiing superstar Lindsey Vonn’s attempts to break up a dispute between her two canines – Leo and Bear – came back to bite her in really gruesome fashion, as she was left needing stitches to a large gash on her right thumb.

The 31-year-old shared a video of her nasty injury on her Twitter and Instagram accounts, writing: “Tried to break up my dogs fighting over a frisbee and this is what I get”.

The Olympic gold medallist hasn’t had much luck with injuries as of late – she’s only recently announced herself ready to return to racing after she suffered a broken left ankle in a training crash three months ago.

In better news, however, the dog bite didn’t keep her out of the game for too long, and Vonn revealed she was back on the slopes again on Sunday.

Still, we imagine she’ll be more careful about trying to break up fights between her dogs in future!
