The new year brings with it a new craze – it’s time to message your ‘text door neighbour’ and wish them a happy new year.
Better just explain, have you ever wondered who gets all those calls and texts meant for you when you mistakenly give out the wrong number while drunk? Chances are it’s the person who’s phone number is one digit higher or lower than yours. For example, if your number ends 963, it’s the person whose ends 962 or 964 – your text door neighbours.
Quite a lot of you have been reaching out to your friendly (or not so friendly) neighbours since 2016 hit, and thankfully many of the results have been posted to Twitter. Let’s just say it isn’t always met with open arms.
TIME FOR AN EXPERIMENT!

It turns out that the majority of people really aren’t that keen on getting to know you…

Some people are just downright mean about it…
General confusion seems quite common…

But every now and then it pays off…
Give it a go and let us know how you get on.
