It’s a worldwide nightmare for every man, woman and child but most of us will never actually know what it’s like to get bitten by a shark.
Statistically, you’re more likely to get bitten by Luis Suarez than by a shark (or so the rumour goes), however, statistics just don’t give a damn when it comes to Cooper Allen, according to the Daily Mail.
Cooper Allen is a 17-year-old surfer from Ballina, Australia and unfortunately for Cooper he was attacked by a shark, thought to be a great white, leaving him with four large lacerations.
A friend of Cooper’s took a series of photographs revealing the gaping, and incredibly painful looking, wounds on his right thigh.
Gnarly dude (sorry).
The ‘great white’ latched onto his leg while he was out surfing during the summer holidays but Cooper was able to break away and swim back to shore before calmly asking for some help.
It has to be said though, he looks a lot happier than I would if I’d just been gnawed on by a hungry shark.
Ballina Mayor David Wright said about the area:
It’s gone from being a virtually unprotected beach yesterday…
Now we are going to have as much protection as we can possibly have.
Hopefully, Cooper is back on his feet in no time…
