Don’t you hate it when you pop into town on a Saturday and you can’t move for people milling about?
Well residents of Hull, England, were shocked to discover thousands of naked people blocking the roads when they woke up.
Not only were they naked but coloured head-to-toe (to everything else) in blue body paint.
It was a Spencer Tunick art installation of course. Tunick is an artist famous for getting loads of people to get their kit off and taking pictures of them all together. He’s probably seen more bare flesh than Hugh Hefner by now.
This was a bit different though because he got them to paint themselves blue to create a ‘Sea of Hull’. Which is weird in itself because Hull is actually on a river, but whatever.
Although watching the blue bodies file through town does look a bit like a river, so I guess he was half right:

I’m not really sure the point that Turnick is trying to make with his art, I guess that we’re all the same underneath our clothes or something? Or maybe that the modern cities alienate us from our bodies and each other?
Probably something like that.
Regardless of his intention, people seem to have really enjoyed the experience.

They certainly seem to have had a better time than me when I stupidly volunteered to be a life model at University once. That was horrible.
There’s only been a few pictures from the event so far but they look bloody impressive so far so I’m sure we’ll be treated to some great shots soon enough.
