Amid Donald Trump’s ongoing feud with the parents of a fallen Muslim soldier, the New York Post, which endorsed Trump in April, published several nude photographs of the candidate’s wife.
The photos appeared in the 1996 issue of Max, a French men’s magazine, and Trump’s campaign has made a very big show of being unbothered by their publication.

Trump said in a statement to the Post:
Melania was one of the most successful models and she did many photo shoots, including for covers and major magazines. This was a picture taken for a European magazine prior to my knowing Melania. In Europe, pictures like this are very fashionable and common.
A spokesman for the Republican presidential candidate described the photos to CNN in an appearance on Monday as ‘a celebration of the human body as art,’ and added: “There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. She’s a beautiful woman.”
But being released so close to the coverage of Donald Trump’s disastrous comments about the mother of a dead U.S. serviceman has created a new theory – Trump leaked the photos to distract from the fallen Muslim soldier’s father, Khzir Khan, who made some pretty cutting comments about him.
I was viciously attacked by Mr. Khan at the Democratic Convention. Am I not allowed to respond? Hillary voted for the Iraq war, not me!

The first bit of evidence to support this? In March, an anti-Trump super PAC supporting Ted Cruz’s campaign promoted images of the former model from a taken from a shoot she did for British GQ in 2000 which read: “Meet Melania Trump. Your next First Lady. Or you could support Ted Cruz on Tuesday.”
The campaign was targeted at conservative Mormon voters who, strategists thought, would be put off by Melania’s nudity.
But Trump – always outspoken – threatened to ‘spill the beans’ on Ted Cruz’s wife.
Lyin' Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin' Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!

This time? No nasty comments – no comments at all, actually. Not even a single tweet.
The only comments Trump actually made about the photos were to the newspaper that published them. And considering how much of an uproar there was regarding his comments towards the Khans, would it really come as a surprise that he was the one to leak Melania’s nudes to distract from it all?
If anything, it just feeds into what we already know about Trump – that he will do anything, no matter how immoral, to become president.
