Funny, smart, tall, nice eyes – whether we like to admit it or not, we all have a checklist of preferences we’d like to see on a partner.
And while most men think a tidy grooming ritual is something women are attracted to, turns out almost half of women hate men tidying a specific area.
No, it’s not where you’re thinking – it’s your legs.
Sorry, cyclists and swimmers.
A survey by Women’s Health asked women, “What do you think about guys shaving their legs?”
And 49.3% per cent of women decided it’s ‘weird’. This was followed by 28.5 per cent who said: “I don’t like clean shaven but I do appreciate a man who trims leg hair down.” On the contrary, 22.2 per cent answered: “It’s awesome. I love a man with clean shaven legs.”
So if you’re a glass-is-half-full type of person, nearly 50 per cent of women asked said they don’t mind tidied leg hair on men, but only one in five like smooth legs.
Another recent study conducted by the journal of Evolutionary Psychology also found that – along with nice legs – a selfless concern for others was the main thing that women looked for when choosing a partner, the Daily Star reports.
Researchers discovered that females were more likely to choose a guy who was considerate but not hot over someone who was handsome but not kind.
They also noted that for less good-looking guys, showing off a selfless side would make them seem like a more appealing long-term partner.
Basically, if you want a long-term partner, according to this study you should refrain from shaving your legs and volunteer once or twice a week.
