How would you celebrate getting engaged? A glass of champagne? A slap up meal, perhaps? Or, if you’re in a kinky mood like these guys, steal some sex toys.
Yeah really, you heard me right. A man ‘romantically’ proposed to his girlfriend over a Walmart tannoy, but on the very same evening the newly engaged couple were arrested- accused of nicking sex toys.
William Cornelius Jr, 25, asked for Sheri Moore’s hand in marriage in front of shoppers in Bay City, Michigan on December 30th, police said.
But later that night, it seems the loved up couple wanted to mix it up a bit in the bedroom and were accused of stealing goods including an edible thong, underwear, vibrator and sex candy the Bay City Times reported.
It’s believed Cornelius told police that he stole the items for his fiancee. And who said romance was dead?
After buying an engagement ring for just shy of $30 at Walmart, he then read his proposal over the loudspeaker at the supermarket asking for his girlfriend’s hand in marriage. The shame.
They then went on to a local mall, where they were then suspected of shoplifting. Sheri, 20, denied taking anything but police say she had allegedly taken a silver necklace and gold earrings from Walmart.
Exhausted from his apparent shoplifting exploits, Cornelius was later found fast asleep in the food court, according to CBS. He was then caught by police with all the contraband worth around $80.
Sheri reportedly blamed her fiance and denied shoplifting. Cornelius has since been charged with shoplifting.
